The Orthopaedic staff in the USA

Direct line between the USA and the Clinica San Francesco thanks to the robotic surgery. On Monday 11^st March 2019 the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Functional Unit surgeons, Piergiuseppe Perazzini (Director), MD, Paolo Sembenini, MD, and Alberto Marangon, MD, were hosted by the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA for a day of debate dedicated to the widening of the robotic procedure evolutions. The professional friendship between MD Perazzini and MD Martin Roche, – the ‘father’ of robotic surgery -, goes back some time, when MD Perazzini had decided to learn to use the Mako robot in order to operate the prostheses. It was the 2010 and the first robotic knee replacement outside the USA was carried out.

The American adventure of San Francesco’s surgeons continued in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from 12^th to 16^th March to participate in the AAOS 2019 Annual Meeting, the yearly Congress of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The event is the most important all over the world for the orthopaedic surgery and the place where the scientific and technological latest are presented.
