International webinar with Professor Ibrahim Tuncay

Although the complicated period due to the Covid19 pandemic, the Clinica San Francesco continues in the development of its intense international and academic relations.

On Friday 2^nd October 2020, MD Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Director of the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Functional Unit, joined as speaker an important webinar dedicated to the hip robotic surgery with guest of honour the Professor Ibrahim Tuncay, Medicine, Orthopaedics and Traumatology Faculty of Bezmialem Vakif University, Istanbul (Turkey). During the event Dr. Perazzini provided the learned colleague his ten-year experience of robot use in operating room. The Professor Tuncay was delighted for the excellent results achieved from his first robotic hip replacement thanks also to the surgical approach developed by doctor Perazzini’s staff. The doctor Perazzini is the European pioneer (and the second one outside the USA) of the robotic orthopaedic surgery having performed first in 2011 a robotic partial knee replacement and in 2012 robotic total hip replacement, in addition to having introduced in Italy in 2017 the robotic total knee replacement.

The Clinica San Francesco today is an international reference point for robotic surgery, because it holds since 2013 the CORE (European Robotic Orthopaedic Centre) and in 2019 was recognized by the Veneto Region as reference facility for the robotic orthopaedic surgery.
